The book arrives 55 years after To Kill a Mockingbird was first published in 1960.

Once home she is forced to grapple with issues both personal and political as she tries to understand both her father's attitude toward society, and her own feelings about the place where she was born and spent her childhood.
Watchman was actually written before Mockingbird, and was thought lost until it was discovered by her lawyer last year.
The publication has proved controversial among both industry figures and readers. Lee has been in poor health since a stoke in 2007, and many are worried she is not in a fit state of mind and is possibly being exploited.
